Media Fluencies need to be taught not just a program. That is when the tools are just that, tools. Not: "I've done a PowerPoint" but "I have discovered designed and planned looking at my audience and the information that I want to present within the time-frame given."
Prezi:Allows for the ability to create visual displays and it was more exciting than powerpoint. When I introduced it a couple of years ago to my Qatar Grade 9 English class they were rather enthused and they did get the "Wow" factor. Afterwards Student were given a free choice to present information about literacy terms and a number of students decided to use Prezi. The frames give you more options to focus on points within a presentation. Although I don't think it is really doing anything different that a powerpoint, academically, but is a really cool way to present. Judge for yourself in ;do-it-yourself-prezi-tutorial by Tai Tran.
